Quarantine Blues

Now that the virus is in town

I put myself on lockdown

Self-quarantine is good

One problem, no food

I headed to the store

For bread, milk and more

Everyone there helped themselves

There was no food left on the shelves

In my shopping cart all I had was wine

No problem going through the line

At home no groceries to bring in.

Just wine to drink that’s a win

Only doom and gloom on TV

How the virus would get me

Fourteen days went by slow

Stayed at home nowhere to go

Quarantine was such a bore

The virus didn’t knock on my door

Nationwide it was a sensation

I didn’t get it, but I died from starvation
