Short Stories, Poems and Life

The Night Before Christmas

Dad is putting out cookies for Santa tonight

He’s in a hurry but it’s going all right

Trying to rush he dropped one on the floor

He looked over at me to see if I saw

He looked at the clock and saw it was late

Picked the cookie off the floor put it on the plate

He looked at me and said Santa won’t know

Santa will eat the cookie, Ho, Ho, Ho

I said he knows if you were bad or good

I think he’ll know you dropped his food

At that Dad didn’t know what to say

I said replace the cookie and call it a day

Dad put a new cookie then turned out the light

We hope Santa likes the cookie when he comes tonight

So, in ending we’ll be nice and clear

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
