I pulled out of my driveway, one bright, sunny day.
Headed off to nowhere, I was on my way.
Driving for several hours, I realized I was lost.
With the price of gas these days, extra miles will cost.
I stopped at a store for directions, while there I had a beer.
Then the Owner told me you can’t get there from here.
You can’t get there from here, you better just go back.
You can’t get there from here, in your fancy Cadillac.
I left that little store, went back to my car.
Then it dawned on me, to contact On-Star.
I got them on the line, and they confirmed my fear.
When they told me you can’t get there from here.
I picked up my cell phone, and called triple A.
I listened with intent, to what they had to say.
They put me on hold, then a voice said loud and clear.
We checked every map and you can’t get there from here.
Then I saw a sign for a Physic reader
I stopped because I knew I’d need her.
She checked her crystal ball, and then she said my dear
I have bad news; you can’t get there from here
There really was no problem, it wasn’t what it would seem
The clock went off, I woke up, it only was a dream.
