The Forest

As I enter the Forest and around, I look

Recapturing scenes, I saw in a book

Off in the distance a slow rippling brook

A boy at its’ side with fish line and hook

Its’ water like music, each note sweet and clear

A symphony of sound heard by my ear

A carpet of grass that blends with the sky

Gives soothing relief to a well weary eye

The clouds up above, white against blue

The song of the birds, the sparkle of dew

The trees stand like soldiers pressed firm to the ground

Giving shelter and shade to all they surround

The forest is Nature for all she is worth

A small piece of heaven right here on earth

So, in closing permit me to say

Please leave it as is God made it that way.
